Fun Facts
Even though the White Tiger and Bengal Tiger are the same species, they barely even look related! Instead of striped bright orange fur, the White Tiger has striped white fur, along with a pink nose and icy blue eyes. And speaking of those stripes, did you know that no two Bengal Tigers have the same striped pattern? They are all unique, just like our fingerprints. In the wild most Bengal Tigers live in Asia, but White Tigers are so rare, that today they can only be found in zoos. There, people are trying to help restore the endangered White Tiger population and send them back to their grassland and forest homes. In his natural habitat, this big cat usually prefers to travel alone, because it's easier for him to hunt for dinner by himself - he can eat up to 40 pounds at a time! Near the top of the food chain, the White Tiger not only keeps over-populated species in check, but he also provides food for other animals, birds, and insects with the leftovers from his meal!
